    Puma Colour

Having trouble picking a colour of our new 90. Looking at black, grey or silver.

Are the black trucks far hotter, do owners of the darker colours find this a problem to the point that they would have purchased a lighter colour.

    Thanks

    David

I've got a bronze and black 90.. yes it's hot but I can't say it's any hotter than the other colours.. If the windows were tinted it would be cooler but as I'm always stuffing the back with camping gear etc I just know I'll end up scratching the tint off the windows so have decided to grin and bear it..

the tint is tougher than you think sue......I would tint the car.

and if your really that worried about scratching it get some internal window guards..

Tint makes a big difference to a cars temperature in the summer, it also helps with people looking in and seeing what you got and if its worth taking

As far as heat goes, the roof colour is the most important - this is why most Landrovers up to the eighties had a near-white roof, even if the rest of the vehicle was a different colour. Seems to have been lost as Landrovers mostly changes from working vehicles to recreational ones, although i would have thought that it was just as important there. In 1960 my father got the roof of his new grey car repainted off-white, and the difference was very noticeable - and this was a car with large sloping windscreen and rear window (Simca Vedette). Seeing the results, several friends and relatives followed suit.

And I agree with dullbird about tinting, although with a Defender you are probably getting the best car on the market from this point of view - all windows (except the alpine windows) are almost vertical and smaller than almost any other car.

All our windows are tinted in all our cars and have been for years...no dramas with damage what so ever and we use our vehicles.

Thanks! I might look into it then as the temps are rising and so is my temper lol..I just had horrible visions of scratched tint all down the side windows from my gear rubbing against it..

Is there a specific type of tint I should be looking at or are they all the same..?

And thanks to everyone else who also mentioned the tint and gave me assurances that it's okay..
