Just got home and went to open back door on our 110and latch was stuck!
There is nothing stuck in the lock, and I have pulled the door skin off and can't see why it would be stuck.
Meybe the latch being stuck is not so bad after all
When I saw this video I thought what idiots, then I felt sorry for the bloke after his wife will be finished with him.
still idiots tho

Anyhow I'd hate for this to happen, I wonder if its possible to fit a backup latch.

How old is the the car, the reason I ask is my new D90 which I brought early last year would do the same. CL would work ok the key would work but the handle was locked solid.
I used a combination of the two several times and it would suddenly work.
I also had a problem when I closed the rear door, it would not quite shut properly at the top of the door, which I was going to get sorted at its first service then all of a sudden the door seemed to bed in and close completely shut and no longer has door handle jam ( I use the rear door alot for work gear) .
I got it looked at anyway on its first service, which they made "adjustments" aparently.
This may or may not have a bearing on your problem but has to be a first for a self fixing Defender fault...
It may be the latch just needs a release adjustment, hope this helps.
Cheers
