Yeah you are all right, it does brighten your day! And why is that when a I try and add a smilie I get just a load of text and not the smilie itself? Like this: http://www.aulro.com/afvb/images/smilies/cool.gif

I always have a smile on my face when I drive "Monty", but the wave just makes it even bigger. Saw an almost identical one to mine yesterday, but I was in the damn Falcon ute, but he did have a smile on his face.

There are too many Defenders where i live (not that that's a bad thing), and after awhile you have waved to the same person about 85 times in a week

The ones i can easily recognise are now a 1 finger off the wheel salute but the stock white examples are more tricky as you never know if it will be the 86th wave or a new one.

Most of the guys/girls in the new gleaming black ones don't seem to care about waves though, too cool apparently

Chances are when they bought the car they weren't told about the Defender wave..

I'm happy to be back in a club of wavers, having once owned a Kombi and now a 130. I have to say that defender owners are outdone by the enthusiasm dedicated to the wave by the VW Kombi community. I'll do my bit to lift the defender wave to new heights.

Unfortunately I spend most of my driving time on dual lane highways, so the wave is hard to give/spot through the trees down the centre - but I try.
