    Dual battery under passenger seat?

    Hey,

I have still got my dual battery system from my last vehicle and I was wondering if anyone has tried to put their second battery under the passenger seat? And if you have any pictures?
I have a Pirahna system and a Optima Blue Top (not Ideal for a deep cycle but its what I have got).

    Cheers,

    Bob

Most nearly all of us have dual batteries under the passenger seat.

There are quite a few threads and pictorials if you do a search

Here's one thread to start you off. Squeezing two decent sized batteries into a Defender battery box?

[edit] Use the advanced search function here http://www.aulro.com/afvb/search.php or google using www.aulro.com. as a search tag.

You'll get heaps of hits and tons of pics.

I'm not sure about the differences between the County and the Defender under the LH seat but my County had a dual battery install there. I'll try to find the pics. I'm sure I've put them up in another thread on AULRO.

    modified the battery box

    Hi Bob

which end of Tassie are you?

I have cut out the slope on the floor in the battery box and welded in a folded up floor that now makes all of the floor flat.
By doing that I have room for; two N70ZZ batteries, the air compressor, a small 150 watt inverter, a heap of other gadgets and spare parts.

I did post a couple of photo's of the battery box on this forum !!!!! but where?.

In fact, some of us have even been known to run 3x batteries under the passenger seat.

    Bob,

I'd be leaving the bigger start battery under the seat, and the second one in the back with the power outlets, isolator etc etc . Drop by when next in town and i'll show you what I mean.

I've got mine under the seat in the Tdi but in the TDCi it's going in the rear wheel arch,I bought a CAT 880CCA battery thats the same shape supprisingly enough of the rear body work and it'll power my Cub camper.Drivesafe makes a dual battery kit just for that application. Pat
