    TD5 injector seals

Could anyone advise me if I can do the TD5 injector seals at home without the special tools listed in the workshop manual. I think they are leaking slightly and I need to do them before they get too bad.

    Hi Allan,

Yes you can. The only potentially tricky bit is extracting the injectors. I use a long 90degree allen key as a lever under the bridge, and it has worked every time, although I have heard of people having more difficulty.

I made up this pretty basic slide hammer with some equally basic jaws (from bits I had lying around the shed) to hook under the injector. Didn't take much of a tap on the hammer and out they popped.

I agree no special tools needed. Just be careful removing the old copper washers, I used a razor blade to pop them off, after a good soak in injector cleaner.
