Before going through the grief of pulling injectors out, get a large socket and bar on the front pulley and turn it over to check for hydrolock. Easier I think! Glad you are alright to!!

I was driving along at 100kph with the cruise control on. rear passenger tyre blew, causing the car to lurch sideways. as i tried to straighten up i ended up swerving into the armco barrier, then bounced off that, shot over the road into a ditch and all of a sudden up was down and down was up! 3 or 4 times!

.... that split lip is the worst injury i suffered! think somebody was on my side on monday...

    Is that a Safari snorkel?
I have had 2 that have survived roll overs with only a few scratches. One of them at 100kmh.
    Tough buggers eh.
It doesn't look like much else is salvageable.

Looks like you will have to buy another Defender and start again like I have.
At least you have a snorkel to go on the next one.

How did you buy it off the insurance company?
Suncorp said I had to bid for my write-off at auction.

Sorry to here about your misfortune.
Better luck with your next one.

yer safari snorkel, needs straightening (not sure how.. perhaps a bit of heat??) but fine apart from that. I bought the wreck back off the insurance company, they wanted $2.5k but i got em down to $2k.. still more than i reckon i should have paid but worth it to me. Batteries alone are worth nearly $500, both brand new.. plus ECU chip, rims n tyres (well 3 of them! :P) engine, aftermarket cruise control.. , sound system etc.

Gee, you are a lucky boy.
Good to see the Fender stood up to such a bad roll over, quite well.
Even better to see you escaped lightly.

$2k is pretty good going. T/Box, G/Box & engine are worth more than that if you remove them and sell separately.

As for getting it going again...

Does is turn over but not fire, or does it refuse to turn?

From memory a 10AS (immobilizer problem) will not let it turn over. The roll-over switch that others talk of will let it turn over but not fire into life.

Also, other things to check. Are all your wiring looms and earth braids still intact?

The defender has no bcu like the discos so it'll be either immobilized or the roll over switch, assuming all wires are still intact.

I'm assuming you don't have access to a nano on to read the fault log and live input data?

Glad yr ok by the way.

Happy to see that you came out of this terrible accident with minor cuts.

I have the same fear when driving mine with the kids in the back seat. I had once a blown front wheel at 80 KPH but have managed to stop the car.

I am convinced that an external roll-cage could preserve the body at the occupants.
