    Stainless snorkel size

    Hi all

I am looking at getting a stainless snorkel made up for the defender and was wondering what size pipe would be preferable? I was thinking 3".

    Simon,
I used 3" (76mm) as I had a ram head to suit and some 76mm S/S tube sitting around.
I think most of the plastic snorkels have 3" tops.
Mandrel bends of various sizes and angles are available from S/S suppliers or exhaust fitters.

    Cheers, Murray

Thanks Murray. The local exhaust guy has quoted me $200 to make one up for me and fit it. Sounds reasonable to me. I will go with 3".

    Cheers

$200 is a pretty reasonable price. If you need a head for it go to your local truck spares place and get a Donaldson on for about $40 ( not around $90 that the 4WD places want)
