    My Tdi is 2.1 empty so 2.4 is very good,my goal with the puma is all towards wieght reduction,no steel and no wieght above the center line. Pat

    yep its gotta all be low low`low. the highest weight in mine is at the height of a jerry can in the rear{cept for oztent diagonaly over storage unit and swag that sits over the rear ply shelf..eg at the height of the rear seats}
    i ended up storing all the tools shovels jacks etc under a ply cover over the rear foot well with fridge ontop

    To scaredo take my 130 over a way bridge.
    A few years ago when it was fat bedded out of where we were I guessed to the truck driver that he was looking at 3 to 3.5 t with all the gear and full tanks. Driver seamed a little scared at that point as he had already loaded it.

    What's the difference between packing for 1 month vs 4 months? I carry the exact same stuff for both length trips generally......

    Actually there isn't much difference between what I pack for a day trip/weekender compared to longer trips, as it's just as dangerous breaking down regardless of how many days you are away from home.
