Turbo hose loose would be my pick, I had similar, would only happen at around 90km when I increased throttle.

SupporterAnother cause or source of the problem could be your snorkel or lack of it, one of my td5 130s, when towing or under heavy load really makes a lot of noise, ESP with the window down accelerating, with the window up, I can't really hear it, it's just the intake noise, obviously louder with your foot down. My puma 130 does the same thing, and also did it before I put the snorkel on.

SupporterWell, it's been 4 months since I started this thread and the 130 has towed a 3 ton plus van more than 10,000 ks without the noise getting any worse. At one stage I thought it had got rapidly louder but it turned out to be a puncture in the drivers side front. ( why do they always happen in the most inconvenient places, had to drag the van another 2 ks before we could get far enough of the road to change it,) .
My conclusion is as suggested, that it is induction noise which is being amplified by the snorkle just outside the drivers window, but I have not ruled out tyre noise from the front wheels as the turbo and the TRS chip start to work.
Thanks for all suggestions.
Dave.
