    brand new to Landrover

    Gday,
I am currently looking at purchasing a Landrover for the very first time. The model that i am looking at is a 2003 defender TD5 130 automatic with gas injection, with under 100,000kms.Any information or advice that any one could share would be much appreciated. What is a fair price guide for these vehicles?
    Thanks. Charlie
p.s. will i be disappointed going from a landcruiser to a landrover?

    Automatic Defender? Interesting.

As far as going from Land Cruiser to Defender goes I can only speak from my own personal experience of having owned a 100 series and a 90 series Prado both of which cost me a fortune in repairs. Have not had the same amount of drama with any of my Landies.

One of these was a TD5 90 which is the top of my list of most missed cars.

    Plus the defenders have soul/character

Hopefully someone can offer some advise on the Automatic and gas injection conversions and what to look out for.

The automatic is a conversion, not a factory option.

It would be worth finding out exactly what was used.

Ie Disco1 type box with Hydraulic control, or a Disco2 box, using the D2 ecu or maybe even a compushift setup.

Do you have any more details on the conversion?

Check for a full service history etc. Does the conversion, especially the tunnel / shift look well done? if not I would possibly be sceptical about the possible quality of the rest of the job.

get it inspected if you can.

Hi, thanks for the reply.I have contacted the people who did the conversion on the box , it was Gold City Landrover and the auto box is a ZZF4HP22 hydraulic.
