    Question Fitting Disco 1 alloys on The Count

    Hi all,

    Just scored the rims in photo below for The Count and can not for the life of me find any decent pic's/threads with photo's of this style on a 110.

    Same for any tips about best tyre sizes or how to get the best position within the guard (should I use spacers to push them out a bit?).

    Can anyone help out with info on fitting them tyres to best "please the eye" and perhaps some photo's of this style on a 110/County?

    I also learned this week that IO need longer studs to put these on, where is best to buy studs and nuts? And how do I fit studs DIY?

    Any info highly appreciated...

    Hey Dave, No Offence to you or Pricey (who I bought my 110 from) and not what you wanted to hear but I thought those rims looked awful on the 110, (probably why you can't find any photos of them) first thing I did was get some standard 110 rims 5.5x16x33 , improved the steering circle out of sight, The inside of disco1 rims sit in too far, even better again I found a set of 130 wolf rims 6.5x16x20.6 and turning circle improved even more.

    No offence taken mate, I have a few tricks to help them blend in a bit better, and this ones gong to be set up for on road duties at the moment. But I will reserve final judgement until I see it all cleaned up and done before I decide to keep them or move to a different style.

    Curious, did you need to change the studs or fit spacers? and I noticed the centre caps fitted too... did that require any mod's?

    They bolt straight on centre caps and all, no spacers req'd , even fit with the maxidrive flanges. But you will need a set of wheel nuts to suit alloy rims.

    Assuming the hubs accept alloys.. Do the studs have the slash on the end face?

    Although the studs are being changed in this case, but it'd be worth checking.

    No, studs are currently the shorter ones which I had thought needed to be changed to the longer, line on them version to fit some (if not all) of the disco 1 alloys.

    Any tips on cheapest supplier(s) for longer studs and nuts to suit this set up?

    Studs are an easy replacement - just knock them out and knock the new ones in. I've got D1 front hubs on my '85 County and I had to split the disc off to replace the studs. Probably the same on County fronts, especially if you're fitting longer studs back in. You might be able to do rears on the car, but the ones I've done I removed the hub and did it on the bench.

    Also have to agree with Goingbush - I reckon they look 'orrible on a 110 - but each to their own
