New springs/lift kit
I am after some advice on upgrading the springs in my 93, 110 trayback. So I have found a lift kit in Perth for just over $850 for springs and shocks, it is ironman brand. Has any body used these? How do you find them?
SUSPENSION - SUSPENSION LIFT KITS - LAND ROVER - DEFENDER - DEFENDER 110 TRAYBACK 84 ON - Fusion Automotive
I was then talking to my local land rover guru and he suggested king spring with either koni or bilstein shocks ( spring are cheap enough, though the shocks sure put the price up. $1200 -1400 for springs and shocks)
I am looking to upgrade for 2 reasons, mainly to be able to have a bit more load on the tray, and I thought while I'm at it I may as well put in a 50mm lift as I just fitted 255/85r16 and a little more clearance would be good.
So any advice on these products or any others you would suggest would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance, Moondog.

I'm running king springs and tough dogs on one of my 97 110 tray tops, it's got a 50mm lift, always heavily loaded with earthmoving tools, fuel, fluids, but it sits very flat and has great articulation off road. It's done about 140,000km with this set up.one of my workers drives it and he's not a land rover person, but loves the ride it gives for a work ute..

They King Springs and Tough Dogs work well together, as do the king springs and Konis.
Word of advice thiugh, if your looking at the Konis with the raised King Springs you can only look at the 80 series Konis, the 90 series ones aren't long enough, despite what they say!
I almost found out the hard way!

Yeah, I run 50mm raised, heavy duty King Springs too, In my 90 county. I have Terrafirma long travel shocks and I'm very happy with the set up (It's not even a year old yet tho!)
I picked up the whole set for about $880 (from memory) from MR Automotive in redcliffe in Brisbane!

If you want to fix up the load carrying in the rear more cheaply, you could simply install the 130 helper springs inside the rear springs. Worked a treat on my old 110.

I have a 92 110 ute and run heavy duty king springs with heavy duty big bore terrafirmas. Very impressed with them, the first thousand ks was a firm ride but it's eased up now. came out quite cheaply as well. I can get part numbers of springs and dampers if you need them.

I've got Ironman shocks in the front and will be getting a set for the rear soon in my 96 ute. I went for the foam cell ones and they have been excellent off road as well as on.
