    Plastic (ABS) outer mudguard panels?

    I want to acquire a replacement outer mudguard panel for a TD5 or similar model with the air intake in the side of the RHS panel. I can find ABS plastic ones from Paddoks in the UK for GB£55.00 + shipping.



    Has anyone used them?

    Alternatively, is there a cheap source for an alloy panel in Aus or would people merely modify an earlier alloy panel to insert the air intake hole and attach a raised air intake?

    You won't find me on: faceplant; Scipe; Infragam; LumpedIn; ShapCnat or Twitting. I'm just not that interesting.

    You could send the snorkel through the top of the guard, the opposite side to the heater intake? Custom make something or maybe look into what southdown can do Defender Snorkel Top & Wing Moulding

    Could do all sorts of things, barring the fact that I think the pipework on the top of the mudguard looks ugly and would prefer the style of the side entry of the TD5 intake and snorkel.

    Personal taste is such a variable thing!

    The remaining option is to look at making a block to press the recess into my current guards!

    Hate to admit this but I bought a set for my 300tdi but have yet to have them painted or to fit them. They're pretty solid, seem well made and would, I think, be less prone to minor dents that the aluminum ones. I changed the shape of the holes to suit the side indicator repeaters and that was easy with a drill and a hacksaw blade.

    Now if anyone can paint mine for a reasonable sum I'd be a very happy bunny!
