    King Springs Progressive Spring

I am looking at upgrading the coils on my My09 130 Puma with progressive coils by King Springs.
Most of the trucks life is driving off road with only a light load on it's back, with or without a trailer with a quad in it. The Heaviest load I carry is about 700 Kg ( Quick spray unit )

What i would like to find out is what are peoples view's on these springs

    Cheers

I am running Ultra flexi coils (taper ground progressive) Dobinsons 3inch on my 130. One of the guys I go driving with has patrol 2inch coils in the rear I think and he his happy with them(lowranger).

I have heard good things about the new king springs though.

Have King Springs recently introduced a progressive?

IVe used KLRR-05 and KLRR-05HD on the rears on many overland vehicles...and indeed use the 05's on my own Defender.

If you always have a 1/2 load I'd suggest the HDs, otherwise the 05s.

Can't comment on the progressives and their ratings but experience iver the years would suggest the load ratings on their "normal" springs is about spot on.

thanks guys for your help, I had EFS coils with air bag on my Td5 130 and was happy with them except not been able to use dislocation cones , I have been recommended to use the progressive kings coils with the cones, and since I don't know any thing about them thought ill ask.

How much lift and what length shock are you after/ looking at running.

I have 3.5 inch of lift and terrafirma +5 shocks and my coils stay seated.

I just got a set of +2 inch progressive rate flexy coils for my RRC from Suspension Stuff a couple of days ago. He gets them made by Kings, but they are only available from him. Shane reckons you shouldn't need relocation cones for them.

Did he say why note to use the relocation cones, as in my Td5 i was for ever running up embankment's trying to get enough dislocation, trying to put the coils back in there right spot.

He didn't say not to use them, but that I probably wouldn't need them. Best to give him a ring and he can explain it best. Google Suspension Stuff and it should take you to his website.

With a two inch lift and +2 shocks I doubt if you would need relocation cones if they are made like my coils, Shane (suspension stuff) is who I used when I got my coils made but it was dobinson coils back then. The last couple of winds in the coil are ground thinner and wound closer together this allows the coil to open up to remain seated when flexed.
