mine is in the same place it can go up to 85 degrees under the right conditions
Hi all
I have fitted A TM2 engine watch dog temp gauge.
I have located the temp sensor rear of engine near fire wall.
I am getting a temp reading after a long run of 72c.
Just wondering what the temp should be for a td5.
Any thoughts

What temp have you got alarm going off at?
I think its about 86 degrees but I live in the Pilbara and occasionally get some bad heat soak so yours could be different
Hi guys, normal temp range is 85-92, working hard on sand can run it up close to the 100 mark and even over. Check the earth, it's critical on the madman ems units.

		Thanks guys
Much appreciated.
I'll set alarm to go off at 90
Cheers
Mick
Have same unit and the probe is placed behind the lifting lug at the rear of the head drivers side. The probe is against the head. I used to get a constant running temp of 70 - 72 untill i removed the EGR and instantly got 68. Sounds strange I know but true. BTW its a 2002 defender, remapped and running 33'' BFG mudders. It has 160k on the clock. I dont drive it hard because i just dont need to.
Sounds like the right temp on mine then.
I had mine in the same spot as you originally but moved it to a bolt next to rocker cover bolt but had to move it again as it was too close to exhaust manifold. It was reading 94. I figured it was inaccurate for the driving I do. Mine's done 124k and I'm pretty easy on her too.
I've had my ecu remapped, egr removed and running 33's also.
3 inch exhaust going in soon, so I'm tipping it should run a little cooler.
Thinking about an Allisport intercooler, but I'll see how she travels after the exhaust goes in first.
Also interested to see what the difference is when offroad in low range crawling up hills.
