My friends have dubbed my defender ALBY after Alby Mangels apparently.Something about being able to go to remote places i think. Don't ever remember him driving a landy rather sailing a yacht. But the name has stuck and i like it. Just put the name on windscreen this arvo.

Another 'Monty' here. You guessed it...we're Python fans

It was very nearly called Baldrick though.

    G'day Kaz11,

Luckily it was nearly called Baldrick - because that is what I called my Series III Diesel about 6 months ago. It seems to be working out "cunning plans" of how to be a pain in the arse at the moment. Maybe you chose wisely after all

    Kind Regards
    Lionel

mine is just called The Landrover,

    lucky I've only got one.

when I had two Toyotas it was

The "White Toyota" for the 105 or the "Yellow Thing" for the BJ40

For some reasons Ive never associated Gender or Names with any on my vehicles. my wife says I'm socially inept , meybe that has something to do with it.

Ours is Sally D. After the VIN... before we realised that all TD5 Defenders have "SALLD" as the start of their VIN...

    Stuck now.

It has lots of names, most not repeatable here!!

However, a few of the old names used in the owners club are:

    "Sandglow money sponge"
"BYB" - Big Yellow Bus - CT 110, CT Disco, etc...
"LYB" - Little Yellow Bus - CT Freelander

I call my 110 "Peril" which is short for "Yellow Peril". My number plate is PER-11L

If asked, I say it's a reference to its colour and the way I drive.

But others of my vintage will recognise where the name originated.
    Mellow Yellow

No matter what the problem - there's a solution. You've just got to find it.

    2013 Discovery 4 TDV6 3.0

2003 Defender 110 - The Yellow Peril (Gone but remembered fondly)
    2001 Discovery II TD5 (Gone)
    1986 County V8 (Gone)
