I don't like this thread, too many 200tdis pulling huge numbers. Mine is 193k and still runs well, a bit of black smoke sometimes but not often.
Would like to swap to a 4bd1 but I cantt justify it when I haven't needed more than a 200tdi. It even towed 2 ton reasonably well.

Hey go easy Pat! The Isuzu is only better due to its torque figures when turboed, and yes they last longer BUT the Tdi will do those sorts of km too if looked after, it's just the old '250cc bike vs 650cc bike ' thing, once you ride/drive one you'd find it difficult to go back...

The Isuzu 110. Solid and as dependable as a rock, coming soon with auto box😊
The Range Rover L322 4.4.TTDV8 ....probably won't bother with the remap..😈

It's not that JC,every time a thread comes up about engines the Tdi is bagged out because they crack heads and wear out bottom ends and the p gasket leaks etc etc,in other words they are an unreliable POS when in fact they can do big miles and give good service. Pat

    330000 Td5

330000 KM's 2002 Td5 and runs like new. Give them good oil I recon and they give you back miles.

It's all relative. It's not that they are unreliable, they just look that way when compared to the isuzu.

hello to everyone, must be sick am buying a newish 110.
I did have a 110 with a 92 300 tdi that only showed 140 on the dash when I bought it but by the way the kingpins were worn I wouldnt have been suprised if it had clocked the odometer.
Also used to blow black smoke on start up if I parked it nose uphill - seemed like worn valve stem seals - but only a problem if parked overnight with nose uphill. No smoke once it warmed up. thought it was blow by into the intercooler but it was pretty clean on inspection.
Also the wiring loom to the rear light clusters had worn through to the copper - ended up ripping it all out and rewiring it.

Loved it, but circumstances meant that it had to go at the time.

Hey Sam, I bought my old girl from a young fella in/near Maitland with 337,000 kms on the odo. He said he bought it from his boss who had it from new. Rego AHP ... . Could it be the same truck? Would love to hear the stories of her past. Your dad might be interested in her transformation (or horrified) over the past 12 months.

    cheers MLD
