    Help: Defender Folding rear seats

    Hi,
I feel like an idiot bit is there a trick to folding the second row in a Defender?

I have a 2012 110 and except on the odd occasion when the seats fold fully forward with ease, on most occasions I can only get the seat back to fold forward but then the seat base doesn't release so it doesn't go any further forward.

I don't do anything differently when it works (occasionally) and when it doesn't (usually). I have read the instructions (yes really) but that hasn't solved it.

Of course in the big scheme of things this is minor but still annoying.

    Cheers

    Jonathan

I had a separate problem on a 2011 110 - I couldn't get the backs to return to the upright position. I got the whole seat frame replaced on warranty. Go see your dealer!

Ditto.. one of my seats seemed to only fold up and or down when it felt like it.. a quick trip to the dealer where they replaced the cable (which had come loose and off the runners) and all is good again..

My 2012 110 has only done 5000km and the back seats won't fold up and lock in place.
Sometimes they won't fold up at all, othertimes they fold up and seem OK, but over bumps they come loose and the base bounces up and down with the back still locked in place.

I put some carpet down in the back, which runs up to the rear foot well under the front edge of the rear seat. Maybe this is causing a problem somewhere, although I checked it pretty well and can't see any interference. Next step will be to remove the carpet and try again - not very hopefull though...
