I’m just about to order some 265/75R16 BF Goodrich All Terrain Tyres , Best prics I could find is $280 each fitted and balanced , has anyone been able to get them for much less , Was also thinking Coopers , any thought on these tyres?
I got my BFG Muddies at Tempe Tyres. They were the cheapest at the time.

G'day Gang,
I have a ex Telstra Defender 130 and want to put taller tires on. Can anyone tell me what the maximum tire size that can be fitted to the standard landy rim on a vehicle without a lift kit. She is a work vehicle and doesn't do any extreme off road work.
Cheers
Dennis
A Mate just replaced his Federal Contenentals. He got just over 100k on them, very happy for a muddy. He got another set and recommends them. Not sure of $$$$. He did say they wernt cheap.
I fitted 265/75 R16 Cooper ST Max to my 99 Defender and there was about 10mm clearance between the tyre and spring mount. All ok at first but they rubbed (quite badly) off road once I started the articulate the rear axle. I sorted the problem by fitting paddocks wheel spacers. This also improved the poor turning circle and widened the track making a noticeable difference the overall stability of the vehicle.
My might be a bit different as its older. But 265's do look good!
Cheers
Nino.
Here's a set of 285/75 they are on 16x7 rims not sure of the off set but they miss everything on factory springs and don't stick out past the flares but they do make the car dirtier
