    Blinkers

    Gday guys,

My Puma has a minor problem with its blinkers, not blinking. Sometimes you can turn them on, theyll work as normal, and sometimes when turned on, they just light up and dont blink, and sometimes they work for a bit, then stop.
When it was in for it's 20k service, they couldn't replicate the problem, thus couldn't fix it.
Has any body else had this problem?

I'd be looking at the 'flasher can' (flasher relay) first off. And then go from there.
Bulbs next. Could be a bulb with a loose connection, simulating a blown globe?
Lastly switches. If it does it with the indicator stork again. Turn on the Hazard lights. If the hazards flash and the indicators don't, that would indicate the switch to me.
    Good luck

Cheers ND, the hazards do the same thing, so my guess is the flasher too. It annoys me that it did'nt happen when at the dealers,, would'nt be so bad, but they had to drive 30Klm through Melb to get it back to me .

It's the flasher can relay. Mine did the same. And funnily enough ULR were the cheapest replacement. (non-Internet)

    Bump,

I am due for an inspection and the rear directional was not working...I was fiddling with the bulb and left the directional on to test it (it was now working)...got a phone call and left the directional on... when I came back the blinker was no longer flashing in the front or showing up in the dash. I can't get the directional to work in either direction and it does not show up on the dash to indicate I am signaling in either direction.

The hazards work. Is this the switch as stated above or a flasher relay? The hazards are working perfectly.

I have never had a problem with the TDCI and have only changed the oil as of yet.

Yep, flasher relay. I have had two of these fail on mine already - years apart though. Hazards always worked fine. Don't waste time trying a self diagnosis - just swap the bastard out.

Pulled the relay going to get a replacement tomorrow.

Anyone have the part number if I want to order an LR original?

Does it make sense that the directional it is not even showing up on the instrument cluster?

Can someone link me to the part (preferably on ebay.com)?...I have now ordered three of them online and keep getting shipped the wrong relay. They don't carry it in any stores locally. Anyway, I would really appreciate it as I'm going nuts looking for it.

Is this the correct part (below)... I would prefer to order it within the US...I just can't find it. The original said (6x21)...can someone confirm that specification is correct?
