I very much doubt that a temporary repair could void your warranty - any attempt to do so would almost certainly to be a breach of consumer protection legislation that came into force at the beginning of this year.

Got a 2012 130 defender, and a hose clamp off one hose rubbed through another hose, immobilized me in the middle of no where, could have fixed it temporarily, but not worth voiding my warranty. Its more of an inconvenience than anything.

Its the hose that comes out of the block (unsure) but it comes up and forward to feed the water pump, it rubbed through on the underside, so I had to take it off to check out the damage. I cannot tell you what the hose that's clamp rubbed through sorry.
hose clamps are something that should be checked regularily when under the bonnet like fluids etc

I just rotated my hose clamp as it had evidence of rubbing on the other hose (looked like black fluff on the end of the clamp). Inspected the "other" hose using a telescopic mirror tool and found a nice little indentation where the hose has been rubbed by the clamp. I'll ring nice Mr Land Rover on Monday and see if they can replace it. Surely they'll be happy to fix one without all the drama of rescuing it roadside first and risking the engine.

SupporterThanks Middo for starting this thread. Prompted me to check my hoses!
I found a hoseclip tag gouging the big hose which runs from the back of the water pump (see pic attached). I will put some padding on it till it goes back for some more warranty work and get it replaced. All the others including the power steering clip were positioned OK, so as not to rub on other hoses
