    Defender Door Repair Part?

    Hi,

Just repairing my Defender Front Door. Full of rust.

I require the bottom frame. Can you buy this part here in Australia?

Rear door part here on Ebay....

Did you have much trouble with the fold in the skin getting it back into place?

I've done repairs on series (few years back now).
Got my repair sections from Four Wheel Drives, Blackburn Victoria .
Only unfold what you have to (bottom & curved section), just loosen sides a little and slide off, I think I used a wide wood chisel to do this - bit easier on a series as only half a door and not much sealer used.
Any sheetmetal shop should be able to make you a section but will probably cost more

6 pounds each also sounds like a steal.

    Hi all,

    Thanks for the replies.

I have the door skin off and just need the section.
Have to get the repairs done this week to meet Blue slip deadline or I have to pay again.
Hence asking if there are any in Australia....quicker delivery.
I'll try fwd in Melbourne tomorrow and see if they have any.

    Cheers,

    Chilly

Sorry Chilly, I only ordered the part yesterday.... I've been putting it off because the rest of the rig is in the shed getting fixed (the doors are leaning on the wall at the moment) so no i havn't tried to repair them yet.

6 pounds does sound like a steal! especially when i saw them for like 25 and more!

Has anyone had to fix around the anti-burst (or whatever they call the door lock bit on a series 3) the steel frame there has rusted a bit - someone tried to do a bog job before I got the car but the rust has spread further. Don't know if they missed some of the rust or it's just re-formed. Any tips tricks would be much appreciated.

I bought new door skins off paddocks, far cheaper than new doors, but I must get around to fitting them up.

You won't find me on: faceplant; Scipe; Infragam; LumpedIn; ShapCnat or Twitting. I'm just not that interesting.

Can you borrow a couple of good doors until after your blue slip?
