Im still waiting for anyone with a kit from Suspension stuff that Ive installed to come back and make a complaint about them and Ive been installing them now for about 4 maybe 5 years.
Hi guys, not to happy with Terrafirma shocks. I fitted 4 new shocks and springs 50mm lift one year ago. Travelled around 12,000km with most of it being on black and two only off road runs and in that time both front shocks have blown seals. The first was just before the warrranty ran out and you guessed it the other one just after.
Question being, is this common for this product or is it just my bad luck. Secondly what do I replace them with as I feel a bit guy shy with Terrafirma.![]()

I was seriously thinking about a Terrafirma kit on my 130.
I will wait and see what responses come back.
Maybe Dave can give us a bit more info on what he has been fitting.
Cheers Wayne
Suspension Stuff
their stuff, most commonly the mates rates gear usually in +2 inch format for discos.(or rangies)
you can buy better
you can buy cheaper
you can not buy better at the price.
to date I must have put in 15 sets of their gear and have had only one complaint and that was from a guy who bought a set and had to sell it because of finance reasons before he could get it installed.
I have had some very minor issues when Ive had the kits supplied to me to fit but thats because they use a generic kit for the bushings that I dont like much (they do work however) and just occasionally the support plates dont fit as well as Id like them to BUT usually if I know that someones getting a kit in I'll pre-purchase a set from my other suppliers and shelf them if I dont need them.
If your not in a hurry, so far I haven't had any hassles with sorting out suitable bushes/plates with a phone call or email.
my usual routine consists of ringing them telling them what my expected weights are over the axles (the procedure is laid out on their site) compared to normal give them the credit card numbers and then waiting about a week, 2 if Im after something a little off standard options.

I put bilsteins on my 110 about 3 years ago with 2in lift, cops a flogging on and off road-all good. Purchased from "e shocks" in usa, all 4 cost approx $350 delivered, i should have got the steering damper at the same time.
i can give you a complain about suspension stuff if you really want one......
i ordered my set off them ages ago........yes it was a +2....
but i got standard length shocks.......it took me about 6 months before i managed to fit them.......so i didn't know i had the wrong shocks till then......
probably an honest mistake...we are all human after all......(although i have met a few exceptions).....
and those in the game will know how much fun it is when a shock absorber runs out of travel on the smallest of bumps.......
i put up with it for a year or so......then i bought some terrafirma big bores......
its like a new truck all over again.......they seem to be a perfect match for the coils
from suspension stuff.......almost.....now i need longer coils cos they pop out.....i had to fit dislocating cones.......
I have TF's front and rear. Pro Sports in the front and Big Bores in the rear.
They have been in for about 18 months, many trips, just did 9000k's up the Cape and vicinity, they copped a flogging.
No issues, they are all going strong.
Hmmmmmm strange,I seem to remember having to wait 3 months for a set of springs, and having to ring Dobinsons direct to get them sent direct to me
I still have the springs, they cost a lot more than my current springs, and didn't ride as well and one sagged 20mm,and other things I can't mention here.
So things can be bought both cheaper and better, just depends on what you are prepared to put up with.

Well, for my 2 bobs worth, I have TFs allround with those on the rear being my second set in two years. Why? For reasons unclear, one of the +5's on the rear decided that it didn't want to go the Kimberley's with us a few weeks before hand. I rang Steve in Morley as his team fitted them and without any issue, he had two new replacement +5 TFs fitted in time for the trip. Under Warranty - and I thought they were out of warranty.....
After two and a bit weeks and 7,940kms of driving up to and through portions of the Kimberley on roads, tracks and 'this looks like it was a track' we arrived home - without any problems and shocks still intact...
Maybe it was just bad luck?
