Oversize Pistons .040 being 100% dearer rear main oil seal 300%. These are all critcal parts if you don't want to re do the job.
Can you share your experience of using crtical after market parts, as I some times wonder if there is no difference and one is just paying for the brand.

When i did mine up the parts came from Turner Engineering in the UK, they enjoy a very good reputation with LR owners for solid, reliable and well done rebuilds. The parts were not genuine LR but it's what they used and they were very good on price so i went with them. Injectors were Bosch (OEM) the rings and head gasket were German IIRC. I broke 1 ring putting it back together... but they seemed very good and the car goes heaps better now.

I bought an after market ignition switch recently.
It lasted a couple of weeks.
Wether you buy aftermarket or OEM, it's quality you're looking for.
The after market switch looked crap, so, I bought an OEM one to have on hand just in case. Didn't think I'd need it so soon though.

Just off the top of my head.

OEM Pistons & rings = Kolbenschmidt
OEM Head gasket = Elring
OEM Seals = Corteco
OEM Bearings = Glyco ? (although I'm happy using ACL)
OEM Water pump = Airtek (Spanish manufacturer)
OEM Timing Belt = Dayco
OEM timing belt tensioner and idler = INA (Bearmach also repackage these and Bearmach's bottom pulley, if you buy the complete timing belt kit is superior to OE)
OEM tensioner pulley assy (water pump/alt) = Dayco (buy through a local spare parts supplier such as Bursons, not a Land Rover specialist supplier and save some $)
OEM injectors = Bosch

It can come back and bite you, if you fit cheaper parts from the start.

OEM would be my first choice, but even the likes of land rover recommend after market parts suppliers from time to time.

All of the above are good quality manufactures, and far better than britpart.

I need a batch of toggle switches genuine Land rover ones were 40 pounds from my supplier, 8 pounds from britpart, I bought new boxed Lucas in the end for 15 pounds, the old switch was of far better quality, ( it was only the plastic that some monkey had broken )
