So I was toying with the idea of making up some fender, side rail and rear corner aluminum guards on the Defender. They will be powder coated in satin black just so they are not so pronounced as the raw alloy ones .I’m also using diamond plate or (Propeller Plate) rather than checker plate .

I’m looking for some opinion regarding the fact that it’s an SVX, do you think the 
	
		
			
			
				fender guards will take away from the clean look of the SVX.
			
		
 
	 
 I noticed that on the OEM Land Rover ones they have a backing, do you think this will trap moisture and promote corrosion.
