    it fits well enough and nothing gets broken.

    and the rest of the thread deals with how to change the belt with no specialist tools just incase you round out the bell housing thread.

    actually the BS and Whitworth type threads are a very good design

    as the old salt who explained nuts and bolts to me when I was learning about them.

    Witworth has a relationship between thread pitch, diameter and the AF of the head.

    If you know any 2 of those items you can work out the rest and because you know the thread type once you know the grade of metal the standard torquing values apply so you know how tight to tighten them.

    cheers guys, just catching up on this thread as the notification went to Spam

    Should be enough info to be able to fax the machine shop tomorrow as looks like I am stuck away from the truck for another 2 weeks instead of one as have to do a side trip to Thailand end of next week

    time to buy some new cheapie t shirts I guess

    anywhere better than here, we taxid accross to Singapore for a decent feed and a beer
