Thread: New Rock Sliders

It took 2 hours to fit Nigel's new sliders. They are very well made and solid.
They bolt up to the outriggers using existing holes and went on without any hassles. The only extra thing you have to do (on a Puma, not sure about other models) is drill out the rivnuts where the front mudflaps are bolted on. The mudflaps are held on with 6mm bolts in the rivnuts which wouldn't be strong enough for the sliders, the bolts for the sliders are 8mm , so you get rid of the rivnuts and use a washer and nyloc instead. The new bolts hold on the sliders as well as the mudflaps.

The anodised ally checkerplate looks good against the black paint. Another great product from Mulgo.

I've noticed the matt decals / stickers on the side... did you get the Defender like that or added yourself? (I want some!)

The "matt decals" as you call them were a standard fitment item on the LR Defender 60th anniversary special edition "SVX" models. I'm not sure if or where you can get them, would be nice to find some though, I think they look great!

My wife is a little vertically challenged so this does help getting in and out. In addition, they do not hang down too far. The matt decals are standard on an SVX. There is a mob that sell something like that in Melbourne. A google search might be best.

I did sneak a look at them at the LR Expo.

I actually ordered a set from Mulgo while I was there. Just the standard version but they suit me better.

Are these similar to the terrafirma ones?

They look pretty much the same, but I think Mulgo's have them made locally to order, hence Nigel's custom jobby's.

Ah I see, I was researching the terrafirma ones, and thought they looked alike.

The terrafirma ones are $ 500 rrp I think the mulga ones are 700 ish.

It would be interesting to know what the difference is between the two types.

I have not seen either so can't comment on the quality etc.
