I recently sold both a D3 & 2012 Prado.

I was given deposit by direct deposit & balance in bank cheque.

I specifically asked the bank if they could be withheld & they said no they could not.

The only danger is if the bank cheque is dodgy however if you have established their identity this should not occur, if it is a dodgy cheque then it is theft and recoverable via insurance.

As a sign of good faith & honesty I got the purchaser to make out two cheques one to finance company& balance to me.
