    TD5 Defender alarm query

Hi all, I am curious to know if the Disco 2 motion detector can be fitted to the Defender alarm and if so are the wires to attach it in the hood lining somewhere. I know in the owner’s handbook it shows it as fitted but our 90 does not have it or the backup battery pack. The harness for the battery pack is behind the left headlight but does not apperar to ever had one fitted. any help would be appreciated.

just an option, I have a xexun TK103-2 discreetly hidden in my Defender, about $100 online, easy as to install.

you can program it from an android phone to do anything you want

it will sms you if the car moves, door opens, alarm fires or any option you choose, if it still happens to get stolen you can order it to immobilise from the android phone, (or any other function your imagination will allow you to wire the relay into) and you can have a moving map on your phone of where its driving, how fast its going, or even listen to what they are saying inside the car.

no extra charges except for the price of keeping a prepaid sim card in the device.

Allan, the sensor should work as the DII uses the same alarm unit as the TD5, the Lucas 10AS. The first thing I would do is see if the 10AS grey plugs pins 3 & 20 are occupied as these are used by the volumetric sensor. If they are occupied then I would start tracing the relevant cables to see if they have been fed up the drivers B pillar or if they are just taped up in amongst the loom somewhere. Sorry not much help I know, but his is how I would go about it. Also remember that if the cable and plug are present, chances are that the volumetric sensor may have been disabled in the 10AS settings page by turning the gain all the way down. You may need to reactivate it by setting the gain in increments so you don't get any ghost alarm soundings.

    10AS Grey plug connections

And here is the Green Plug connections

This is the 10AS settings page and you can see the volumetric sensor gain setting.
