What are you talking about, you guys on here sold me the Defender it was the easiest sale the salesman ever had.

Thanks to everyone's advise, you all loved your defenders so much even through bad times, that I got jealous and wanted to be part of that. After all we just want to be loved.

Was there marketing available on it, I must of missed that one. Mmmm

Maybe it's still to new to tell, but I'm wondering why you all love them so much. Maybe I'm too shallow and I have to look at its personality. :D

So tonight I found another problem. The drivers door would not close properly, it would take at least 3 attempts for it to shut. I worked out if you sit in the front passengers seat and reach over to shut the door it closes properly, funny mob these Brits, they must have put sensors in the passenger seat for the drivers door to close properly, beats me why :confused:

Another thing I noticed is I drove it in Sydney tonight around Surry Hills and every time I turned a corner people were coming on my side of the road I know they are small lanes but gees don't these city folk know how to drive.

It was strange though because I was only there a week ago (in Surry Hills) and I could have sworn the streets were wider. I am most certain, 100% sure they have made the streets narrower, now why would they go and do that. Silly it makes it hard for us to turn.

Oh and now that I'm clued up I lost track of that aircraft by turning off the A/C. That showed them.

Oh and that saw shin, well it's even more saw now, I figure it will eventually get calluses on there and then I won't be able to feel anything. Problem solved:D

Are you guys sure these things were designed in UK I truly believe they date back to Japan, I think they were ancient oriental Japanese women's cars. You know the ones with the tiny bound up feet and all. I reckon they had plenty of room In those footwells.

I must say it is a hell of a lot smoother than the Hilux was on road, it soaks up bumps and roundabouts better. I'm impressed!

Has anyone noticed that the steering wheel is sooooo big. I can't see the front of the vehicle.

I think those seats in it are scientifically designed because I seem to sit with my back very straight, and now that I think about it I see heaps of landy owners with such good posture either that or they just finished licking the windscreen. Not sure, I'll look for saliva on the windows next time. I must admit I was tempted to lick mine tonight, don't tell anyone but gees it was right there in front of me, how could I not:D :D:D

Anyways I'll keep you all posted as I discover new things, this is fun. A bit like an adventure and all.

I'll post more pics tomorrow.

P.S can anyone tell me if the corrosion in the engine bay is normal, see pics at beginning of thread. Because I am sure I did not pay extra for this option, I see other Defenders fitted with this option, but I thought it was only available on older models:confused:

Sue, thanks for clearing that up, Mia culpa. I should have listened to that swank marketing before I bought it, and would have been better informed. But are you sure it does not have those items fitted, maybe you have not found them either. ;)

I had Daniel down at mulgo install the seat rail extensions into the 90, it affords the discearning gentleman a few extra inches where he can sit back and admire the bugs that I am sure fly faster into the windshield than any other car I have owned
They do however make it a lot harder to have ones elbow out the window on a sunny day ;)
