Difference between Perentie and standard Defender?

    Afternoon.
I was trying to explain the difference between the Perentie and a standard Deefer to a mate yesterday, just wondering what the key differences are?
Obviously all the army toys like the bonnet tool mounts, blackout switches etc, but are there any glaring differences between say perentie hard top and a 3.9 isuzu county?
    Cheers

Perentie has no alpine windows on any HT/SW models.
    Tropical roof.
5 speed tunnel cover with 4 speed box.
Different "dumb irons" used as part of lifting structures.

If the 3.9 ISUZU turbo/engine has been one of the souped up ones...then some gearbox components have a service life that's terrifyingly short (under severe military hooning...)

Only the 6X6 Perentie has a turbo engine and it is in no way souped up.

What happens after they get released and then modified makes them no different to a chipped Tdi or TD5. If you buy a modified vehicle you take the risk.

...and i am using the lt95 from a perentie because it is the only one apart from the isuzu box to take a turbo isuzu imo.

Maybe mr quag is thinking about Armygeddon? A vehicle that only sort of looked like a Perentie.

Hmmm, what a disaster that turned out to be, and what a waste of a decent ROPS cab, even though it is narrowed I could've used that
