    Tail Shaft Phase

    today I have been under my 2010 130 and have noticed the the rear tail shaft is neither in phase or out of phase from what im leed to beleavr it should be on or the other.
    mine is what you would call 45* out
    any one know the ansewer

    Td5's are in phase, do you have a Td5 as in your user name or a 2010 Tdci as in the post.
    Tdci's are different to earlier Defenders in that the transfer case does not sit horizontal due to the engine being mounted higher.

    Where the diff yoke is not on a parallel plane to the gearbox output yoke then the prop shaft needs to be out of phase, by how much is the question, does it not have arrows on the slip joint showing how it should line up, Some shafts have a key spline, they will only go in one position.

    Its a TDci I didnt lok for arrows and I never took it apart I just noticed it is diffrent might have to get it back out on the ramps and have a closer look at the moment im just curios to know
