Um, no. Coolant drain. Use a t-piece on the RHS of the engine at the oil pressure switch/ oil cooler valve if you want a temp sensor.
Another daft question
The drain plug on the LHS of the 300tdi engine block ERC9410
I am guessing this is to drain the oil for the piston oil jets??
So theoretically I can plug my oil temperature sensor in there?

My oil temp sender is in the sump drain plug hole, vdo with an adaptor. been there for about 4 years just unplug the wire when doing an oil change.
Just while you guys are on the topic of plugs, etc. What do you call the plug you're supposed to put in the "gearbox?" before doing river crossings?and really how important is it?
Pretty important to be in when it should be and out when it should be.
Wading plug warning!!!
How deep is the river crossing you are thinking about?
1973 Series III LWB 1983 - 2006

Hi guys - thanks, ah yes - the wading plug (couldn't for the life of me remember what it was called). i didn't know about a kit though. So far, I've only done a few puddles up to the wheel centres and one river crossing about the same depth but am looking at Cape York middle of next year so there's some over the bonnet stuff up there. I only have diff breathers.
thanks again
cheers Gerald
