A Good workshop manual for 2003 TD5 130 Dual cab

    Hi all,

Just wondering if anyone out there knows where to get a good workshop manual?

I have the Landrover workshop manual but I don't find it that good

I used to have a Gregorys Manaul for my old 60 series landcruiser and it was great with flow charts of things to check to diagnose problems etc, is there an equivelant for the landrover?

    Thanks in advance

What do you find wrong with the genuine manuals?

You could always buy a Haynes Book of Lies http://www.haynes.co.uk/webapp/wcs/s...2979&langId=-1

    Thanks for the reply,

It just didn't seem to have any diagnostic stuff like the old gregory's manuals did, I read it cover to cover, It tells you how to strip stuff down and put it back together but not how to fault find.

I saw that manual you posted but it didn't have 130 so I wasn't sure it was the right one!!

Book of lies ? what makes you say this ?

You should look into getting a nanocom. They are excellent kit for diagnosing TD5s. https://blackbox-solutions.com/shop/

I use both the Land Rover workshop manual and the Haynes manual. Those two combined with the nanocom (and forums like this); make working on the TD5 a pleasure.

    There's roughly no difference between a 130 TD5 and a 110 TD5.

Google it. They are renowned for lacking information. I bought two Haynes manuals for my Peugeot 405 - both with the same part no. Both books contained different info and both missed crucial steps in disassembly.

My first mechanical experience was pulling down my Harley Sportster engine for repair, with the help of a Haynes manual.

I progressed quite a way through the process, had the engine on the bench with a fair bit done, and reached a step that finished with the sentence:

"This step is best done with the engine still in the frame."

I ended up ordering a Hayes Manual and a ScanTool 423001 ElmScan 5 Compact OBD-II Scan Tool and OBDwiz Diagnostic Software

I have the workshop manual so I should have it all covered, just have to get a good spares kit and any specialised tools I might need together for going around AUS

    Thanks for the replies
