A/C Not Up To The Job

The A/C in the new 90 i not impressing during our summer heat wave it was only just keep me cool with the fan on 3.
Is this a problem for all Defenders if so is there a fix?
As its only 8 months old i would not think it would need re gassing.
Do i have to put up with it.

    Cheers
    David

I assume you'r talking about a Puma engined Deefer?

If so, your A/C should be pretty good - mine keeps the car cool in the high 40s no worries at all (and mine's a 110).

I own a 2012 D90 and live in Perth and the air con is perfect even when it is hot for days on end

yeah sound's like something is wrong there...

if so get it fixed under warranty quick smart.

and if it is working properly... just be glad your not the owner of a pre ford defender
although the air-con on the older fendys are pretty good at cooling your knees!

I am a goose. Perhaps you are too.

The other day, I turned on the A/C in our Puma for the first time this season and was left feeling quite warm...

until I realised the fan was still blowing as a demister!

    Click. Click

Fan blowing through the vents again and I'm back to being slightly too cold.

definately get it checked out by the dealer, my 2010 Puma 110 is icy cold with the air con on, but SWMBO complains that she ends up with a cold shoulder (funny, I normally get that....) on one side and hot on the other due to the vent placement, or if shes driving (????? yes she does drive it - off road as well...????) cold left knuckles and hot right ones - I figure your blood eventually flows through both so some cooling must occur.....

Try a re-gas but failing that, just wind the window down & drive faster...

i have a My12 D90 in white with the leather, and My AC is ice cold even when its smoldering outside. . . Id check that your fan is pumping air to the right place, or jump under the bonnet while its running and listen for any nasty sounds form the air con compressor. . . but if shes knew. . just take it into the dealer and say 'fix it' its a warranty job after all. . .

Mine (MY11 90) works pretty good for the first hour or two.

After that the heat from underneath forces it way through and out competes the cool air.

Looking into some heat insulation soon.

Ha ha same goes for me, can always feel that heat rising. I put setting on knees and face to help cool below.

Heat insulation for future as well.

Has anyone tried using 4/60 air, it's been working faultless for many years. Can't go wrong and most reliable option.
