    Bonnet tool holders

    Hello,
I know this was done a while ago but did anyone actually post a pic of the military tool holders on a bonnet, the reason being I have some and was wanting to see how they are configured/spaced out on the bonnet or on the wings?
Any pictures of yours would be great, and would help me out.
    Cheers ted.

Here are a couple of images that hopefully give you an idea of the layout

Old scan from the end of a light damaged roll of film taken late 1980's of my old hybrid 90, don't know if they are in the official positions.
I do know I mounted them using a ex army series 2 wing mounted tool bracket set

(from the previous post looks like the positions are correct)

    Thanks

Hey, thanks very much for the photo's, has anyone got a set up with the spare wheel on the bonnet and the tool holders as well? Not sure if this is possible other than putting tools on the wings?
    Cheers ted.

The Tanami Defenders had slightly different positioning, the pickaxe head was mounted in the centre.
These were a civvy vehicle but Land Rover Australia fitted the military tool holders.

    Check out post #10
    Tanami Defenders

I don't think tools & wheel on the bonnet would be possible.

I'm sure I have seen a Defender with the tools on the raised outer section of the bonnet and spare wheel in the middle. Would have been a tight fit though.

Mine has the spade holder on one wing, the axe on the other and a spare wheel on the bonnet.

    (sorry no pics available)

It all fits... just. but no space for the pick!

Vlad, just use quick-fists like this bloke has:
    http://www.nickslandrover.co.uk/pion...nd-cargo-rail/

Otherwise the 'real deal' holders are pretty expensive and uncommon and probably best left to the restorers. I have a partial set of Series tool holders and reckon quick fists would be better if you only intend having the tools fitted for trips, not every day.
