    Yes, a 12 point socket will do the trick, or a 12 point ring spanner. Mine are 1/2" size.

    on my 300tdi defender they are double hex bolts, that is 12 point and a normal 12 point ring spanner or socket fits right.

    Many, many years ago I saw a mini on which someone had screwed in a sparkplug as a sump plug. From memory, I don't think that the threads are even remotely similar!
