    Question Puma gear knob cracking

I've seen two other Pumas were the gear knob hs started to crack and fall apart. Now my Puma is developing the first signs of it.

I know the gear knob is fused to the whole gear lever shaft plastic casing.

Has anyone else experienced a cracked knob and if so what was the fix?

Ok I`m up for the obvious answer here Um I`d try rubbing in a little moisturiser
Anyway enough of that now. If it is all fused together as you say then I`m guessing a new gear stick and knob.

One would hope that the 'treatment' would alleviate the pain... or at least 'distract'...

For a cheap fix, smother in Araldite and enclose in Glad Wrap...

Well this thread didn't sink as low as it could have

Anyway I now have a solution , just have to finalise payment and hopefully will have new alloy knobs for Christmas

Not the ones in the link above, much nicer

For now I won't say were I sourced them as they aren't fully released to market yet.

    The solution arrived this morning

Now for a cool enough day to fit them.

    Partially fitted:

    Excuse the ordinary phone pic.

To fit the transfer lever I need to remove the box it attaches to. Unfortunately one of the bolts is stuck fast so that's now for another day

I did discover where a rattle is coming from. One of the clips holding down a protective plate over there transfer case actuator had broken off and so it was loose.
