Is DBA the disc of choice, or is there something else readily available.

Did you or Ron slip in the thumbnail ?

Been running 087S and 086S for a very long time now, although they are very close to minimum thickness, they've lasted well. (225,000km ?)
Same here Rick, even with all my stop start driving, 1 pad abrasion from mud incident, and no trailer brakes hooked up on the camper they have seen at least 150K. No slots left but still not min thickness. I'll be replacing shortly though with Slotted and drilled Brembo copies from UK. Also going back to genuine pads. Sure they dust up a bit but very happy with their all round performance, and I can get them cheap

RDA have a good rep, but they don't make discs, only source and wholesale them.
Having said that my old DBA's are Brembo cores finished by DBA but I have no idea what/where new DBA Land Rover castings are made.

I like DBA as years ago when I was racing we found their cores and machining better quality/more consistent than AP Racing, at least with the stuff I was using

Mine still have the slots (just) and with my new rims I picked up from Serg on Monday I'll be able to watch them disappear.....

BTW, as I mentioned in my reply to Jason, my 086/7's are Brembo cores.

[edit] Hmm, OE pads eh ? Been using Ferodo 4wd for near on ten years, (cheap and cheerful from Motospecs/Repco) Might be time for a change.
The Bendix 4WD's I've used on the Patrol seem more aggressive to the discs, but that could be the iron they use too. The Ferodo's have been very kind to the discs on the Landy.

They are to suit Td5 Defender then, DBA549 in Bendix/ DBA brand, but in LR the part number is SDB000330, or aftermarket LRO18026.

Rda definitely make there own rotors but just like everyone else there out of china just like dba the only rotors dba were makeing in Australia was commodore and falcon rotors this may have changed tho we haven't used dba in years and only deal with rda and we are closed so I can't access the catalog to check they're listing

JC and 460cixy, any idea what they actually are ? eg. Ferodo (UK) ?

A bloke I know well collared me today, he has a big brake squeal problem with his 110 tray back and I suggested genuine ones and will ring Karcraft on Wednesday.

He's tried three different sets in the last month, but I suspect the anti-squeal shims might be missing too.
