I was wondering if anyone could tell me what sort of life expectancy I can get from TD5 fuel injectors .

Never seen a worn out set yet, Jim. Some are still up around the 380K+ mark and going fine. They have the odd failure, both mechanically and electrically, and they can be ruined through water/ contaminated fuel and excess heat like any other diesel injector. But like the Td5 engine, we haven't seen a worn out one yet.

Not so, the heads aren't the problem, just the plastic dowels. As regards the odd cracked through the fuel gallery one, well yes they have happened for sure.

But as a whole, they are a fantastic engine.

The cruiser injector failures/ lifespan is well documented, even the old 2H really needed tips replacing and overhauls at the 150K mark. With the 1HZ and 1HDT, new injectors are the best bet as they are hard to overhaul properly.
