    Rijidij Camel Trophy Front Bar

Spoken to Murray from Rijidij and he is willing to give it a go to replicate a Camel Trophy style front bar to fit onto the OEM bumper.

I know there were a few guys on here looking for a similar product, put your hands up, and if we can get some good numbers it will be worth Murray's while spending time fabricating a bar.

His quality already speaks for itself, I have his rear wheel carrier (bought from Daniel @ Mulgo) and absolutely love it. Great design.

Anyways, I'll go first. Put your sequential number down then your name. As follows -

    G'day Babs

Do you have a photo of the type of bar to go along with the post?

    Cheers

Babs can confirm, but I think the idea being floated here is something similar to the bar in this pic, although I'd probably wrap the mount around the front of the bumper. A bar which bolts on to the original bumper for those who want to retain the more standard look of their Defender and don't particularly want or need to fit a winch.
Keep in mind that these are commonly referred to as 'Brush Bars' rather than 'Bull Bars', so they don't offer as much protection as an ARB Bullbar, for example, hitting a big roo head on, but they certainly will offer more protection than just the standard bumper.
A lot of roo strikes are glances, rather than a full on hit, so it depends on just what level of protection you want and the type of driving you commonly do.
You also get a handy place to mount some driving lights too.

For now we'd just like to see what sort of interest there is in this type of bar to see whether it's worth making some up.

    Cheers, Murray

If you want to be anal about it, there were a couple of different CT designs.

Also, are you looking at including brackets for bush wires??

This type of Bar is currently available to buy, is the Rijidi one different in design and price?

Can you legally use the world camel Trophy Bar, without infringing copyright? both on the bar and the wording?

Good on you Murray, the more Australian made products we can choose to buy for our vehicles the better. Call it the "Aussie Camel Bar". Great stuff.

If you can get it in under the OEM price might be a winner.

Some useful changes you could make:

    * The centre bar, above the winch, could be brought out to give better access to the winch.
    * Move light brackets from the centre bar to the top bar.
    * Brackets in the top corners to mount bush-wires.
