yep it is there in the tacho area but you have to be quick as it doesn't take long and at first i didn't see it either.
I also wait for the fuel light to go out before starting as I was in a similar mind too
Hey guys,
Is there supposed to be a glow plug light in my Puma dash??? Sure as hell can't see one, I thought maybe the fuel light warning little yellow light might double up as it turns off after a few moments after the ignition is turned on. I normally wait for that to go out before I start it up, but I would have thought there should be a dedicated light.
Unless these don't need per-heating?

Yes it flashes quickly by. When I went South two years ago to Wee Waa in the winter in the 2010 Puma the light stayed on a very little bit longer.
By the by you know the Detroit 53 series Diesels that are 1945 technology don't have glow plugs at all!!

Guys I'm trying really hard to see this so-called light flash really quickly, I don't think it is there at all. I might check fuse box???
Does it look like a traditional glow light with the coil?

Hi Babs, I wondered that as well. Mine only comes one when the air temp is cold and then only quickly, so far only twice. Its on the left instrument panel
ON the Td5, to my understanding the glow plugs are used if the water temperature is below a certain level. The ECU senses if there's a need to preheat the glow plugs.
This may be the same for the Puma so the indicator light may not illuminate if the ambient temp is high enough.
Cheers,
Paul.

I thought I was wrong once, but I was mistaken.

Its a yellow curly coil and is located in the tacho panel. Look just below 2700 rpm.
On My MY11 90, the light stays on for ~4 seconds.
I wait for it to go out before starting engine.
Comes on even if i have just turned off the engine and its still warm.
Ditto on Slugworth's post. Mine is a 2010 90 and the light stays on for 2 to 3 seconds. It did the same while I lived in the Pilbara (35C plus everyday) and it will do a second or two when starting hot as well.
I also wait for all the checklights to go out before I start.
Babs, yours a new 2.2? They seem to behave a little different than the "older" 2.4's.
