    Longranger fuel tank swap 300tdi to Puma

    Does any one know if I can swap the Longranger fuel tank from my 300tdi 110 wagon to my 07 Puma 110 wagon and visa versa?
    Not great range with the standard tank and have gotten used to the 120 lt tank in the 300tdi.
    Pretty ordinary fuel consumption in the Puma.
    I suspect the EGR valve.

    If your talking rear replacement tanks I have a 130 Tdi with a LRA tank in it, and without having done the exercise, from what can observe I think that tank would fit into my Tdci. Given neither tank has a pump in it solves that side of things as well.

    Interesting you say egr valve and economy in the same sentence. On a trip last year mine went croak and I was flat out getting 330km out of tank. Given the same conditions a week before I was getting 450.

    Wynns make a diesel and petrol EGR cleaner.

    It comes in a spray back, all you do is take the intake hose off and run the engine at roughly 2500rpm while spraying the cleaner in

    The right stuff is only available through a sales rep from Wynns

    My Ford Ranger was way down on power and economy; I ran three cans through it was incredible the difference in power. Increased fuel economy too

    Some recommend it should be done every 20000km

    Will I have to modify fuel lines and wiring for the fuel level sensor?

    crikey that's a bit technical....
    The Tdci has those plastic clip things for fuel connectors whereas the Tdi I have has a simple hose clamps. I'm not sure where you'd get those plastic clips but then you may not need them if your just adding a centre bit of tubing to lengthen things. I think the Tdi picks up from the left centre top where as the Tdci is more centre right top, so you may have to lengthen some lines a bit.
    As for the sensor I have no idea. The Tdci sensor may swap over, depends of diameter of the unit. I believe the Tdci's fuel level is run through the ECU to balance out irregular needle movement. So that would be the preferred sender I'd imagine. A tdi just works from the tank sender to gauge though that is easier.
