SubscriberMy new defender has finally arrived. Wow, its quite different to they my09 it replaced. Nara bronze looks very nice. Things I've noticed so far compared to the my09.
The major rusty bits underneath have been waxoyled, so you no longer look at its rusty nuts.
The wiring loom to the rear is new, but does not run inside the chassis.
The guy with the tube of sikaflex is back from long service leave, almost every seam is nicely sealed. The rear does not seem to suck dust in. I remember on the first trip home on the old one, on the dirt roads, there were piles of dust every where. Nothing on this new one.
The chassis seems to have actual paint this time, not the random overspray that was on the previous one.

Great looking landie mate!
Looks great, colour choice excellent.
Good to see some quality in the build
Thats a cracker! Love the colour, really suits the Defender...
And you say its been sealed up? Wow! Only taken like 60+ years

I saw a Nara Bronze Defender up close recently. It looked a little strange, having become quite used to my Nara Bronze D4 with its rounded corners.
How is it that LR are fitting old style MTRs? Might they be a special order and only available through LR?

						Subscriberthanks Everyone!
Cargo Barrier fitted now, next are some child restraints, which in Victoria is now a PITA. The company I used to use on the last 2 defenders has stopped doing them, and the moment you mention its a Defender - everyone goes ... We don't do them... Luckily I've found a local registered restraint fitter who is willing to put plain bolts in the back instead of a $1000+ crab bar. (I'm reluctant to pay someone $600 to fit a $400 CRAB bar... )
The difference in driving this one compared to the MY09 is "Huge". The engine is much quieter, at first I thought it was a bit sluggish, but that must have been the ECU retraining, as after 300k's it's now hammering as much as the old one did.
