Dolium Cargo Net/Barrier in post 09MY

    Hello All

Was checking out using cargo net/Barrier in the 110SVX but received the following reply from Dolium

    QUOTE:
There are no fitting instructions for the barrier net, as on the earlier model Defender vehicles there were mounting points already existing in the wagon for the net to bolt into. The new model Defender like yours, requires additional mount points to be fitted so we recommend the net is installed by a qualified fitter. The centre top strap cannot be mounted on the new model, whereas the old model had a centre mount point in the roof, so that strap would need to be cut off. It does not include any bolts/nuts, only has the metal buckles at each strap end for the bolts to hold down.

    UNQUOTE

Reckon I would be qualified as a "fitter"

Anyone got some "good oil" ?

.............and yes I did do a couple of searches under "Dolium" and net and barrier.

    Cheers

I had the same problem,I did not want a ridged cargo barrier so i thought the net was perfect, i landed up bending 25mm square tube into a U shape frame, building brackes off the grab handle mounts on both sides and bolting it through the floor. I then got a bag of rated cable ties and went mad stretching it to the frame. It turned out ok in the end. I am now thinking of having a 32mm round tube bent to act as a roll bar as well.

    Another project for another month.

    Cheers

Just fitted the Dolium mesh barrier, it was i bit frustrating when it came to fitting as non of the obvious bolts did not work.
I used the top seat belt bolt for the top mount but i had to do a dodgy for the bottom mount just for the weekend, but there is bolt down low that will work with a little time to remove some plastic cover pieces.
Will post some close ups soon.

I have been thinking the same for my Defender 110. Who did you buy your Dolium mesh barriers from?
None of the mesh barriers I have looked at seem big enough.

    Thanks

    Hiyas all

Yep did fit net. Had to make steel cross bar and bolt it into the roof rails both sides .

Now I'll have to go get photos :0( All good :0)

    Cheers
