My only concern would be the gap at the top of the screen... Sun would be quite high when it could sneak through and grill the knees. Or worse.:o
Like the concept, had them on several of my previous cars, and reckon the Valiant one with the green underside looked the ... coolest. It also worked the best.
Wind noise on a Defender? - You'll never travel that fast.
Wouldn't be with out one. Has been on the Series III for at least the last 20 years. Definitely keeps the sun off your legs and hands while driving. Who cares what it looks like. Why would you buy a Defender if you were concerned with the aesthetic appearance of the vehicle. I thought function is the reason why you buy one of these vehicles and the visor certainly does a worthy job!

I used to have one on my 1975 HJ Kingswood ute. Worked well and I liked the look, it complemented the canvas canopy well.
I have had one of those Adelaide ones on my Defer for 8 yrs now.It's been literally everywhere.No noise worries either .As I live near Mildura sun protection is a high priority

Yep No problems .The manufacturer requested photos of the snorkel before I ordered.Makes all the difference when driving into setting sun etc and protects hand on athe wheel.As i said mine has been on for years and never wavered under highway conditions with heavy vehicles passing Shivers a little but still there after approx 150KMs
Towe you got me thinking. Might look into having a squarish sold visor fabricated. Might be possible for the same money.
On a Tdci the drivers side will have to mount lower, or off the factory raised air intake mount as the head and tube sits close to the A pillar.
For that money I'd be going to a glass company and having an "Opticool" type glass windscreen made...
Whatever they call it, the front - much larger windscreen in the Disco 4 hardly lets any heat through - And you dont get the burning feeling when sun is glaring onto knees etc either...
And the benefits of it not looking like that, no additional drag, and when offroad - particularly in the high country type tracks where you lean forward and look UP - no vision problems...
I was always leaning to the glass and looking up on approach to climbs and can see these causing plenty of visibility issues!
