I have a 2012 Defender 90 and Oppposite Lock Rockdale in Sydney recently fitted a snorkel for me. I am fairly sure it is a Safari
Nugget providse an offset pipe from the air box for the clearance with the alternator bolt. I ran it for about 1000km with some serious low range work in there and it only just showed a very very minor sign of making contact. Because I am a bit anal with these sort of things, I;ve placed a peice of rubber between the hose and alternator bolt. Im awaiting delivery of a "cap" similar to this - http://cubbiesonline.com.au/products/XBC12B.jpg - so that it looks nice![]()
Does anyone have the part numbers for the Safari or Mantex snorkels, that fit the 2.2L Defender 110?
Are they easy enough to install yourself, or do you need to spend the extra $200 to get someone else to do it?
The plastic jobby was pretty easy to install, 4 drill holes from memory, and about 30 mins... Just get the right sized drill bits, and a steady hand. Ordered mine from o/seas, but I think you can source them locally as well.
Follow the instructions, and it's very easy.
That said, I have not sealed the unit yet.. That is a job for another day..

Looking at the Mantec website though, all thats listed for a Puma is the steel unit....
Whatever Snorkel/RAI you install contact Nugget on this forum and buy one of his kits to seal to air box. If you just bolt on a Snorkel to the outside it won't be sealed inside.

2011 D4 V8
2016 Moto Guzzi California Audace.
Yeh both are on my list, provided I can find the right snorkel, for the right price. I am happy to install myself, and willing to buy overseas if I can find a provider that doesnt charge more for freight than the item costs itself...
