I didn't see your post when I ran a search, so that's given me some more ideas. The 90's chassis is unfortunately dead straight, so going right to left at the top of chassis level is a bit harder than a 110 which chassis gives you a few more options.
Hopefully Carl's photo's shows a solution to that particular issue.

Had a Long Ranger 80litre in my defender for 7 years now, no issues at all (other than a minor, but very inconvenient problem right at the start).
You do lose the drivers underseat storage though. It looks like it hangs down a long way in the pic but never been a problem.

Hi Loubrey - Sorry I'm a bit late to reply (I've been away enjoying the fruits of my labour)... I've got both auxiliary tanks installed in my 90, both filled from the Mulgo Y-Filler. Daniel installed a stainless junction box in the driver's rear wheel arch which then splits to the two auxiliary tanks. The hose to the passenger tank sits nicely in the gap between the chassis rail and the body.

Filling is mostly easy. Occasionally it gets stuck if you're on a slope whilst filling but a good jiggle helps (wobble the Defender as well).
Thats what my tank looks like except mines hidden behind the side steps,my filler is were the triangle section is on the body below the rear door handle. PatQuote:

Does anyone know if it is possible to still buy the 70l tank that goes under the rear passenger seats in the 130? I have seen it on build threads from years ago and thinking about one.
I already have sill tanks on either side. One Fuel and the other Water. With the heavy canopy on the back. I would prefer to spread my weight over the middle of the car than replace the rear factory tank at the moment.
Here are the photos of the dual filler set up on a D 90. The Y filler is sold by Mulgo with the tanks and the fit out was done by Rijidij
