			2012 Puma CANBUS re-set?...

Sorting out a problem with a Nanocom on a 2012 Puma. The guy i've been talking to says to hard re-set the CANBUS by touching the positive and negative terminals together for a couple of minutes. I've heard of this being done on D3's, but is it safe for a 2.2 Def?

I'm also trying to find out what the CANBUS does on the new Defenders, is this network used for diagnostic communication, or just communication between onboard ecu's.

 Thanks heaps.
 Benji.

Personally I prefer just to remove the negative terminal and then press the brake pedal a few times to discharge any stored capacitance within the loom/modules. I then leave it ten mins before re connecting the negative lead. Does the same job as touching the two terminals.
On the 2012 MY the CanBus network connects the EMS, Ipac and ABS Modulator and the OBDII diagnostic socket.
