    What snorkel?

hey all, are snorkels interchangable for d110s? have a 12' 2.2 puma and some of the snorkels I've seen online so far are either for a 300tdi or td5... just wondering if they would work on the puma as well?

All three plumb into the same side of the Defender, so on that front it's okay. the 300tdi version has a hose that runs from the snorkel to the air cleaner, whereas the Puma snorkel just feeds straight into the airbox inside the wing.

If I'm not mistaken, to fit a 300tdi snorkel to a puma, you have to cut the plastic flange that the flexi hose off the snorkel, and the rest just bolts up in the same way.

It's worth just getting the correct bespoke RAI or snorkel for the Puma.

Mantec makes the genuine (OEM) snorkel for Land Rover and their own Mantec branded one is very similar and half the price.

    Defender 300Tdi, Td5 & Puma

But check out the whole range on this website.

You would in any case do a heap better buying from someone like Devon 4x4 in the UK as with airfreight you will still pay less than half the Australian price, even for an Australian made safari...(remember you pay 20% less than their listed price as you don't pay UK VAT)

    Cheers,

    Lou

Thats something to look into. Just wondering cause I saw a snorkel for sale for 100$ that was off a TD5.. the side looks same but the plumbing from the guard to the intake itself i am unsure of.

Almost certain it will fit, but not all snorkels are made to the same standard so be sure what you are buying.

On top of that there is a host of bolts, fittings, caps etc that you need to make sure are all there if you don't want to create extra work.

If you're not going to break the bank, that's one item I'd rather be buying new...

    Good luck with your choice!

    Cheers,

From my experience TD5 snorkel will not fit a 2.4 Puma

Well that answers that! Time to get a new piggy bank and put some aside and get it another time!
